NCAA Basketball Recruiting Winners: Tennessee, MSU find building blocks
Oklahoma snags two 2019 recruits
Now that Trae Young is in the NBA, Oklahoma basketball could be heading into a down season. Yet, thanks to a hot start in regards to 2019 recruiting, head coach Lon Kruger’s team will not be down for long. In just this past week, the Sooners landed two highly-regarded players in Victor Iwuakor (No. 93) and Jalen Hill (No. 100). These players committed within a day of each other and will join another highly-touted recruit in De’Vion Harmon (No. 36), who committed in November of 2017.
All three of these players project as major contributors for the future of the program. The Sooners have been extremely successful in recent years and this trio will more than likely help guide the team to more strong seasons. In addition to being highly-rated recruits, all of these players should be able to see the floor at the same time in college: Harmon is an elite lead guard, Iwuakor can man the paint due to his physical frame and athleticism, and Hill is at his best as a long wing.
On the whole, the class is ranked fifth in the nation and tops in the Big 12 at this point and should provide immediate help in 2019-20.
