Key reserves

The Wolf Pack bench is well-stocked regardless of who is in the starting rotation. Nevada will welcome 11 newcomers to the roster in 2018-19, although four of them are Division 1 transfers that sat out the 2017-18 season.

Backcourt play shouldn’t be an issue with junior guards Nisre Zouzoua and Jazz Johnson in the fold. Don’t be surprised if Zouzoua is in the starting rotation before it’s all said and done, either. He transferred from Bryant after putting up 20.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest during the 2016-17 season. Johnson produced 15.8 points at Portland University on 41.5 percent shooting from 3-point range in 2016-17. With a year under their belt to learn the Wolf Pack’s system, they are two guards to keep an eye on off the bench.

Zouzoua could see starter minutes given he led the Northeastern Conference in points per game as well 3-pointers made (92) and 3-point field goal percentage (36.6 percent) in his final season at Bryant. 6-foot-7 forward Tre’Shawn Thurman will also be another player to watch off the bench in the frontcourt. He averaged 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest for Omaha in the Summit League.

The MWC will have its own learning curve but Thurman also got a year under his belt with Nevada by sitting out last season. The cupboard isn’t bare of talent for Eric Musselman and company in Nevada. Don’t be surprised if a player or two takes a redshirt to even out things in the rotation.
