Biggest Need: Keep options open.

Villanova might be off to the hottest 2019 recruiting start in the Big East but Xavier is not that far behind. Even though the program is under new leadership now that Chris Mack is at Louisville, first-year head coach Travis Steele is snagging recruits left and right for the future of the program. Because of this, there are limited needs for the program at the moment. It may be difficult to replace stars like Trevon Bluiett and J.P. Macura but the future is very bright for the Musketeers.

As of right now (Sept. 30), Xavier has landed four early commitments to lead a class that ranks at No. 9 in the nation. At the forefront of this group are three fringe top-100 recruits. Of this group, 6-foot-9 center Zach Freemantle is the highest-rated, coming in at exactly No. 100 in the most recent 247Sports rankings. Following closely behind, power forward Daniel Ramsey (No. 105) and guard Dahmir Bishop (No. 119) also represent potential stars for the program down the road.

Lastly, Dieonte Miles (No. 243) could end up being an underrated snag by the time he reaches Xavier. A 6-foot-10 big man, Miles could develop into a strong interior threat down the road. Regardless, though, it is clear to see that the Musketeers are off to an incredible start on the 2019 recruiting trail and have minimal needs moving forward.

Next. Big East award/all-conference predictions. dark

Big East basketball has a bright future ahead thanks to a strong group of coaches. If each program is able to take into account these critical needs, then the conference should continue to be among the best in the nation.
