Georgetown Hoyas

Biggest Need: Frontcourt depth.

Quite frankly, I am not all that worried about the future of Georgetown basketball. Head coach Patrick Ewing put together a solid campaign a year ago and is bringing in a very strong 2018 recruiting class (No. 31 overall). He is currently covering all of the bases in regards to rebuilding the program and it would not be a surprise to see the Hoyas skyrocket up the Big East rankings in the coming years. This will, of course, though, depend on prolonged recruiting success.

After this upcoming season, the Hoyas will lose star big man Jessie Govan along with a few other valuable frontcourt pieces in Kaleb Johnson and Greg Malinowski (transfer from William & Mary). And while there will be a few returning rotation pieces in the frontcourt, adding more depth and talent up front should be a priority for Georgetown in the 2019 class. And with 6-foot-11 big man Malcolm Wilson (No. 189) already committed, it seems as though Coach Ewing is off to a strong start.

Of course, it does not hurt that Coach Ewing himself is a Hall of Fame center. Given this, attracting elite-level big men to the nation’s capital should not prove to be overly difficult. Georgetown already has a great group of underclassmen on the roster for this coming season and adding in another strong class could lead to a quick rise up the Big East.
