Silvio De Sousa

This might be the biggest question mark surrounding this Kansas team. When all the issues seemed to be behind him more stories are coming out which would likely take away his eligibility.

In a recent 247sports article reports say Under Armour paid De Sousa $20,000 to attend the University of Maryland. Which then prompted Adidas to match that with $20,000 of their own. He wound up at Kansas.

While his eligibility is certainly up in the air he did make a big impact late in the season last year. It would be a big loss to a Kansas team that has many new faces they’re trying to work in.

Silvio De Sousa averaged just four points and 3.7 rebounds per game last season. He did shoot 68% while doing it though.

Him not being able to play until January 13th made it difficult to work him into the rotation. The Jayhawks were going through a lot of issues of their own and many thought the conference title streak was going to end.

His best games were during the conference tournament. He had some really good performances including a 16 point, 10 rebound performance, in which he went eight for eight from the field against West Virginia in the championship game.

An even more meaningful game from his was his four-point and ten rebounds against Duke in the Elite 8. His impact inside was huge going up against a Duke front line that featured Marvin Bagley and Wendell Carter Jr.
