Oklahoma Basketball: 2018-19 season preview for the Sooners
Starting lineup
Brady Manek
During his freshman season, the Oklahoma native proved indispensable to the Sooners, earning his way into the starting lineup for 26 games. Brady Manek averaged 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, shooting a robust .383 from 3-point range. He needs to improve his free throw shooting, though, as he shot a paltry .600 from the line.
Christian James
Christian James is set to be the team’s senior leader. He’s the top returning scorer from a year ago, averaging 11.9 points per game. Kruger will rely on the guard more than any other player on the roster.
Rashard Odomes
The rising junior started a majority of Oklahoma’s games last season. Rashard Odomes averaged 7.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. There’s room for improvement across the board as Odomes looks to take on an expanded leadership role with the Sooners.
Jamuni McNeace
The center only started five games last season, but he should get more opportunity as the only true center on a team that will play much different than last year. Jamuni McNeace, a rising senior, averaged 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game off the bench last season.
Aaron Calixte
Aaron Calixte comes over from Maine, where he averaged 16.9 points and 3.2 assists per game last season. He also sported the best free throw percentage in the American East last year. As a graduate transfer, Calixte is eligible immediately.
