Starting Lineup

G – Ray Ona Embo

Ona Embo looks to be the Green Wave’s leader this season. A native of France, Ona Embo played the second-most minutes last season and was tied as the leader for assists per game (3.3). If the Green Wave want to be even remotely successful, Ona Embo will need to score far more frequently than he did last season, where he averaged 10.1 points per game.

G – Jordan Cornish

Cornish and Ona Embo combine for a relatively talented backcourt duo this season, as Cornish averaged 9.9 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, and tied Ona Embo as the assists leader with 3.3 assists per game. However, Cornish is certainly a volume scorer considering his shooting splits of 33/38/70 from last season. Cornish saw over 30 minutes of floor time per game last season, meaning he will carry heavy responsibilities this season.

G – Caleb Daniels

Daniels was a very promising piece of last years Green Wave team. The freshman posted 6.4 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game while only seeing 18 minutes of floor time per game. He shot the ball rather well, too, as the New Orleans native shot 43 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc.

F – Samir Sehic

While Tulane carries a decent backcourt led by Ona Embo and Cornish, Tulane may look to the inside on the majority of their possessions this season. Sehic is the team’s top returning scorer (10.5 points per game last season) and rebounder (5.2 rebounds per game). The former Commodore was only on the court for 20.4 minutes per game as well. Sehic, a junior, may be the brightest spot on the roster for this season.

F – Blake Paul

Paul spent his first three years as a role player, hopefully making the transition into a starting role as smooth as possible. Paul’s presence is felt more on the defensive end of the floor, where he led the Green Wave in blocks per game (1.3). He averaged 3.3 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game; his offensive production has never impressed. Paul is surely the weakest link in the starting rotation, making Sehic’s role only more vital.
