Non-conference schedule for 2018-19

Nov. 9 (N) – Texas (ESPN Armed Forces Classic)

Nov. 12 (H) – UC Davis

Nov. 18 (H) – Indiana

Nov. 21 (H) – Montana State

Nov. 23 (H) – UT Arlington

Dec. 1 (H) –  Florida International

Dec. 5 (A) – Colorado State

Dec. 8 (H) – Western Kentucky

Dec. 15 (N) – UT-San Antonio (North Little Rock, Ak.)

Dec. 19 (H) – Georgia Tech

Dec. 22 (H) – Texas State

Dec. 28 (H) – Austin Peay

Jan. 26 (A) – Texas Tech (Big 12/SEC Challenge)

The non-conference schedule gets off to a fast start for the Razorbacks when they open the season in the ESPN Armed Forces Classic on Nov. 9 in El Paso against the Texas Longhorns. It is the 101st meeting between the two teams. Arkansas won the last meeting 77-74 back on Dec. 17, 2016.

Five-straight home games come after their contest against the Longhorns. The UC-Davis Aggies (Nov. 12) won’t be an easy victory and neither will the Indiana Hoosiers (Nov. 18) when five-star prospect Romeo Langford and company come to town.

Things cool down a bit against the Montana State Bobcats (Nov. 21), UT-Arlington Mavericks (Nov. 23) and Florida International Panthers (Dec. 1) before a road game against the Colorado State Rams on Dec. 5. The Rams went 11-21 in 2017-18 and are under new head coach Niko Medved, a former Rams assistant (2007-13).

The Arkansas Razorbacks return home on Dec. 8 to face the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Head coach Rick Stansbury has a crop of prospects led by Charles Bassey that should be on full display. After a week off, they return to action on Dec. 15 at a neutral-site game against the UT-San Antonio Roadrunners.

Three more home games will close out the December portion on their non-conference slate. They’ll face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Dec. 19, a team they’ve lost four straight games against. The Razorbacks are a combined 6-0 against the Texas State Bobcats (Dec. 22) and Austin Peay Governors (Dec. 28).

The non-conference slate concludes on Jan. 26 with a meeting against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The Razorbacks won their meeting in January 2016, 75-68 in overtime, so it should be a good one.
