Overview for Arkansas this upcoming season

The Arkansas Razorbacks had quite the season in 2017-18 and it concluded with an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. They lost in the first round but there’s a belief in their program that deep runs in the tournament are on the way. This could be one of those season’s where the postseason focus is more on the NIT.

The Razorbacks have Gafford in their frontcourt to lead the way but they’re probably one of the more inexperienced teams in the SEC. A majority of their production is gone from a season ago outside of Gafford. Arkansas isn’t a team like the Kentucky Wildcats, either, so it could take a while for some recruits to find their bearings.

Still, head coach Mike Anderson isn’t new to the college basketball game. He’s adapted well and should with eight eligible newcomers on the roster for 2018-19. He’s got some talent in the wings with Jalen Harris and rising sophomore Mason Jones.

If they can fill their roles, don’t expect Arkansas to finish near the bottom of the SEC. A middle of the pack finish should do them well. Given their non-conference schedule, they could have enough wins heading into January to be just outside the NCAA Tournament bubble come March.
