Key Reserves

PG – SO Tavian Dunn-Martin

A possible contender for the starting point guard position, Dunn-Martin averaged four points a game off the bench in all 36 games for the Zips. He’s a good shooter and dishes out 4.0 apg per 40 minutes. It’ll be interesting to see how his size and 5’8 and under 175 pounds go up against the bigger defenders of the A-10. But even if he’s not a starter, Dunn-Martin will provide strong bench play on the perimeter.

G – JR Leonard Randall

Known as “Craig” Randall at Memphis, the 6’4 guard averaged over 18 mpg and 5.3 ppg while being stuck behind several other guards. He has good size to play on the wings and is another transfer piece with a potentially high ceiling.

G – FR Lamar Norman Jr.

The prized player of a strong recruiting class for Duquesne, Norman is considered a high-major player of a similar nature to Lewis. The 6’3 shooting guard was a prolific scorer in high school but also showed capabilities of handling the ball. I won’t call it now but it won’t shock me if he runs the point during the season.

PF – FR Gavin Bizeau and Austin Rotroff

Two more freshmen that can provide frontcourt depth, both Bizeau and Rotroff are a pair of 6’10 and 230-pound forwards that gives the team more size than they have had years before. Based on the prior teams at Akron, you know that Dambrot likes to have size in his frontcourts.

C – FR Dylan Swingle

At 6’11 and reaching nearly 300-pounds, Swingle may be the most intriguing piece for the Dukes. The three-star big man may not be ready to be a starting center but he’ll be a nightmare matchup for smaller A-10 frontcourts.
