With the exception of Notre Dame, Duquesne won’t be leaving the city of Pittsburgh throughout the non-conference campaign. The Dukes will have 20 home games overall this season, the most in school history which is great considering the growing hype concerning the program.

The “City Game” rivalry battle with Pittsburgh is of huge importance for the Dukes this season. They defeated the Panthers two years ago and lost to them last season. In fact, Duquesne was arguably the best win for Pittsburgh after going 0-18 in the ACC. But with former Duke Assistant Jeff Capel coming aboard with his elite recruiting abilities, the program could be returning to prominence soon. This could be the best chance for the Dukes to beat them for a long time.

Besides Big Ten foe Penn State, the Marshall Thundering Herd is another game to watch for Duquesne. They return a pair of 20 ppg scorers in CJ Burks and Jon Elmore, who helped upset defensive juggernaut West Virginia in the NCAA Tournament last season. This game in December could easily reach the 80’s and feature a ton of offense from both sides.
