Season outlook

I think LSU will be one of the biggest breakout teams in the country. Wade has amassed so much talent in such a short amount of time and we’ll see that on full display.

Waters is going to be in the National Player of the Year discussion. Reid, Williams, and Smart will all make major contributions as freshmen. They should be an elite offensive team. They have depth. They also have one of the best young coaches in the country.

Considering all of those factors, it’s easy to see why many are so high on the Tigers this year. The AdvoCare Invitational will tell us just how good this team is and if they can compete with the very best in the country.

The SEC will be better as six teams are projected to make the NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi. LSU will be in that mix, but where will they fall?

Because of how well-rounded their roster is and the way their schedule sets up, I think the Tigers will be SEC co-champs with Kentucky, earning themselves a top-four seed in the Big Dance. They’ll also make the second weekend once they get there.
