Saint Louis Basketball: 2018-19 season preview for the Billikens
By Brian Rauf
Projected starters
Jordan Goodwin
The 6-3, 215-pounder actually led Saint Louis is both rebounds (7.5) and assists (4.0) per game as a freshman and seems poised for an even bigger sophomore campaign. The 13-point, 15-rebound, 10-assist performance he had against Duquesne in January shows what he’s capable of.
Tramaine Isabell
Isabell started his college career at Missouri before playing last season at Drexel. He lit it up for the Dragons, averaging 21 points per game, but also showcased a great all-around skill set with 7.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game as well. Isabell will be in the starting lineup because of his scoring ability.
Javon Bess
Bess, the Billikens’ leading scorer a year ago, is a tough, physical player who excels at getting to the rim. The 6-6, 220-pounder is also a quality perimeter defender because of his size, strength, and quickness.
Hasahn French
Another sophomore who is coming off a good freshman campaign, French (9.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.8 bpg) provides more muscle and rim protection in the post. Saint Louis needs him to expand his offensive game but the potential is there for him to become a star.
D.J. Foreman
Foreman, a senior, was a role player who provided more muscle inside a year ago. He’s solidly built at 6-8 and 240 pounds and will only be a supporting player in this lineup.
