Sixth Man Award

Lamont West

Lamont West is a guy who is in store for a breakout year. He averaged 9.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game last season.

West did start 20 games last season but with Esa Ahmad back healthy and Wesley Harris back starting on the wing I don’t expect West to be a starter.

That isn’t a big deal on this West Virginia team. He’ll still get a large chunk of minutes and possibly be in at the end of close games.

His shooting is gonna be key for him and the team this season. He has only shot 34% from deep over his first two seasons. He has shot 3.6 threes per game though so you can expect that number to go up, even more, this season.

Expect West to shoot over five three-point attempts per game. They don’t have Jevon Carter to make plays down the stretch and they’ll be relying on West to hit shots and that will lead to him winning the Sixth Man of the year award.
