Projected starters

The Rebels got good news when guard Terence Davis decided to return to school for his senior season, passing on the NBA. Davis led the Rebels in scoring (13.8 points per game) and rebounding (6.2 rebounds per game) in 2017-18, but the departures of Deandre Burnett, Markel Crawford and Marcanvis Hymon will leave them looking for more in the experience department.

Forward Bruce Stevens produced 10.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest in 32 appearances (19 starts) in his first season with Ole Miss. He’s due for a breakout season with more time in the rotation on the horizon. Another player to keep an eye on is guard Breein Tyree.

Tyree put up 10.8 points, 2.8 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore, appearing in all 32 games and making 23 starts. If he can improve on his 39.4 percent shooting percentage from 2017-18, he’ll be in for a better season. Despite that, Tyree is still the Rebels’ best shooter from behind the arc. He shot 35.6 percent from 3-point range last year.

Big man Dominik Olejniczak will try his hand in the starting rotation again in 2018-19. Inconsistent play from him caused his time in the lineup to fluctuate in 2017-18. He’ll likely be joined by freshman forward Blake Hinson, the best prospect in their 2018 recruiting class. Hinson ranked 145th overall in his class after averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game as a high school senior. He’s a versatile player whose ability to play the whole floor will be on display this upcoming season.
