9. Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils

The Delta Devils and current head coach Andre Payne are hoping to finally take the team to the next level. If not for Alabama A&M, Mississippi Valley State would be considered by many to be the worst team in the country. The Delta Devils were another team who had a very lopsided scoring offense vs scoring defense a season ago. The 64.8 points per game and the 78.1 points per game allowed is only a 13-point difference.

That 13-point difference only afforded the Delta Devils four total wins a year ago and all were in the conference. Over the last four seasons under the leadership of coach Payne, the Delta Devils have only won 25 games. It would be hard to fathom that without a huge uptick in production of his team, coach Payne will be looking for work.

The Delta Devils do have an all-conference player on their current roster. That player is junior wing Dante Scott. Scott was able to average around 15 points and 6 rebounds per contest last year. When paired with junior guard Jordan Evans accounted for 50% of the Delta Devils scoring a season ago. The duo is returning and is looking for any production from the supporting cast. Scott and Evans are going to do all they can to help Mississippi Valley State climb out of the cellar in the conference.

Without the help of their teammates picking up some of the scoring load, it is going to be another long year for the Delta Devils.
