Season Outlook
UCF was riddled with injuries last year and inconsistent scoring. With Taylor, Fall, and Dawkins all back healthy they look to remedy both of those problems. If they can stay away from the injury bug then the Knight look like a team ready to take the next step in the AAC.
Dawkins brings some athleticism that the Knights have been lacking and if Smith can provide some depth down low to help out Fall this could be a very good team and could compete for an at-large bid come tournament time. Everybody is talking about Houston and Cincinnati and of course Penny Hardaway and Memphis. This will allow the Knights to fly under the radar and sneak up on some teams.
With so many players returning and the addition of Dawkins and Smith, Coach Dawkins is looking to show that the Football team is not the only team that can compete at UCF. An easy non-conference schedule should give this team time to find its footing with everybody back and have them ready for an up and coming conference in the AAC.

UCF isn’t yet one of the favorites in the conference but look for them to be a top-five team and could be higher if things break right. This is an exciting time at Central Florida and the Knights basketball teams are ready to make some noise.
