5. North Carolina

The Tar Heels feature a rotation that could be the deepest in the country. Roy Williams has 12 players on his roster worthy of floor time, and off the bench alone, there are three talents taller than 6’9″.

But UNC’s dominance is far more than its depth and length. The group also has loads of star power. Forward Luke Maye averaged a double-double last season with 16.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game and was a Third Team All-American. Moreover, Cam Johnson, who averaged 12.4 points per game as a junior, could really become a terrifying wing presence that scores at will. The Tar Heels also return senior Kenny Williams (11.4 points per game in 2018-19) as their third double-figure scorer back on the roster.

I haven’t even mentioned freshman Nassir Little, a top-3 player in the 2018 recruiting class, who is already a threat to land First Team All-ACC honors. The Florida native is an amazing athlete and playmaker who will be a force on both ends of the floor. Little was also named the MVP of both the McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand All-American Game.

North Carolina has the talent and coaching to make a Final Four run in March, and with No. 2 Kentucky, No. 3 Gonzaga, and No. 19 Michigan on its non-conference schedule, the Tar Heels will be extremely fun to watch as they face some of the nation’s best competition.
