Key Reserves

Dane Goodwin

Goodwin comes to the Irish out of Ohio where he was Mr. Basketball last year. He is a very good perimeter player who should see a lot of minutes as a freshman. He won’t be looked upon to be the main scorer for the Irish but should provide a scoring punch off the bench. He is a huge asset for the Irish to spell Gibbs and Pflueger. He has the ability to have some big games and it does not seem like the college game will be too much for him.

Robby Carmody

Carmody is another highly rated recruit out of Pennsylvania. He was Gatorade player of the year in the state of Pennsylvania last year and is another guy that can score anywhere on the court. At 6’4″ he has decent size but can finish on the break and shoot it from the outside. He along with Goodwin and Hubb look to be the future for the Irish and if they all play well the future could be now. Combine them with Gibbs and this could be a sneaky good backcourt.

Nate Laszewski

Laszewski is yet another freshman that Brey and the Irish are very excited about. He is 6’10” but has shown he can shoot it from the outside. He, just like Mooney, can stretch the defenses and present matchup problems for other teams. He will be a big-time guy for the Irish off the bench and could get a lot of minutes this year.

Juwan Durham

Durham sat out last year after transferring from UConn. He has great length and will be counted on to help clog up the inside on defense. He is very athletic and has the ability to knock down the mid-range jumper. He should be a big part of the Irish rotation and give them some experience on this young team.
