3. Get to the foul line

Michigan was not a great free throw shooting team last year. So saying get to the foul line may seem counterproductive for the Wolverines. But if they can get to the charity stripe in means they are running their pick and roll well and attacking the rim. Like mentioned above, the Wolverines outmatch the Spartans and should be able to draw fouls inside. This will only happen if they are attacking and not just settling for outside shots.

The more Matthews and Simpson can get to the line and hopefully get the confidence of being there, should help when the game is on the line later in the season. Simpson was a liability late in games and Matthews was up and down from on free throws last year. The Wolverines need to be able to count on them and be able to have them on the court when the game is tight.

The bigger sign off Michigan getting to the line a lot is that they will be moving the ball around and being a fluid offense. Michigan gets in trouble when they stand around and throw up a ton of threes without any movement. Continuing to move and get everyone involved should open up the lanes and in turn allow them to attach the rim and draw fouls.
