Nov. 16 (H) – Coppin State

Nov. 21 (N) – Middle Tennessee (Battle 4 Atlantis)

Dec. 9 (H) – VCU

Dec. 22 (H) – William & Mary

Dec. 31 (H) -Marshall

The Cavaliers should have an interesting time finding their identity again with their non-conference schedule. They have one true road game on the schedule so things should work in their favor until the conference slate arrives in January.

They open the season against the Towson Tigers on Nov. 6 then host the George Washington Colonials on Nov. 11 and the Coppin State Eagles on Nov. 16. After that, they’ll participate in the Battle 4 Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas. Pending a win or loss, the Cavaliers will face the winner out of Butler/Dayton with the possibility of facing the Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, Wisconsin Badgers or the Stanford Cardinal in the final.

Virginia returns home on Nov. 28 for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge when they face the Maryland Terrapins. It’s their first meeting between each other since the 2014-15 season when the Cavaliers won 76-65.

On Dec. 3, the Morgan State Bears travel to Charlottesville as do the VCU Rams on Dec. 9. The Cavaliers are sure to get the Rams’ best game after defeating them 76-67 last year. The only road game on the schedule is against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Dec. 19.

The William & Mary Tribe (Dec. 22) and Marshall Thundering Herd (Dec. 31) will close out the non-conference slate. William & Mart may be a cakewalk but Jon Elmore and the Thundering Herd should pose as a solid challenge.
