NCAA Basketball: 5 biggest schools to be probed for alleged corruption

NC State
Well, it’s bad enough being the perennial little brother of Devils and Heels, but now head coach Kevin Keatts has to deal with the repercussions of the missteps of his predecessor. Former Wolfpack head coach Mark Gottfried and his staff allegedly funneled money to one Dennis Smith Jr, who is now tearing it up for the Orlando Magic in the NBA.
It will be interesting to see if Keatts can guide his squad to another NCAA Tournament appearance in wake of these allegations and potential sanctions. I’m interested to see how UNC-Wilmington transfer C.J. Bryce does in his first year eligible with the Pack.
I think they could surprise some people in the ACC this year, especially if Torin Dorn builds on his excellent season last year. Ultimately, it will be basically impossible for NC State to emerge as the team to beat in the Carolinas, especially this year.
However, with a bit of luck and progression from their players, I think Kevin Keatts is going to have a solid team on his hands. Last year, the ACC sent 9 teams to the NCAA Tournament, and I think that this year NC State will be one of the teams to make it.
