Kansas Basketball: Takeaways from Jayhawks win over Vermont
By Rylan Stiles
Another Takeaway
The Jayhawks must cut down on the turnovers. Kansas gave the ball away 18 times on Monday Night which is a trend that is carrying over from exhibition play. These were not turnovers built up from walk-ons who got minutes in a blowout, they came from Jayhawk starters.
Big men Azubuike and Dedric Lawson turned the ball over three times each. Guards Legarald Vick and Quentin Grimes turned the ball over three and two times each respectively. Dodson also turned the ball over once.
Up Next for KU
The Kansas Jayhawks will have a few days off before hitting the hardwood again on Friday Night. That is when they host the University of Louisianna Layfette. That tilt will tip off at 7 central standard time and be streamed exclusively on ESPN+.
The Ragin Cajuns will roll into Lawrence at 1-1 with their loss coming against No. 5 Tennessee. The Jayhawks will, of course, be 2-0. That will be KU’s final game before heading to New York next Wednesday to take on number 21 Marquette in the pre-season NIT.
