Top half of bracket
Saint Joseph’s Hawks
Head coach Phil Martelli has a St. Joe’s team that is one of the favorites in the A-10 this season thanks to a number of quality players, headlined by Charlie Brown, Lamarr Kimble, and Pierfrancesco Oliva. They’re not a great shooting team, but they are talented.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
The Demon Deacons are trying to replace their three leading scorers from last season’s 11-win team and looked shaky in a season-opening win over NC A&T. Brandon Childress and five-star forward Jaylen Hoard are tasked with carrying this team without much help.
UCF Knights
UCF enters 2018-19 as the favorite in the American thanks to the overall depth of the roster. Health issues have limited this team in recent years but an early loss to FAU has raised some questions about this group. B.J. Taylor and 7-6 Tacko Fall are the senior duo worth watching with this group.
Cal State Fullerton Titans
Fullerton pushed Arizona State to double overtime in their opener and go to Myrtle Beach averaging 100 points per game. This group made the NCAA Tournament a year ago and return most of their major contributors, headlined by All-Big West first team performer Kyle Allman.
