Cam Reddish flying under the radar

It’s almost hard to imagine a top-3 freshman recruit that’s averaging 16.7 ppg flying under the radar but that’s what’s been happening with Reddish so far this season. Zion Williamson is averaging 25.3 ppg and 10.7 rpg on a ridiculous 82% shooting from the field. He’s the attention grabber of the group but not the only top-5 pick on the team.

RJ Barrett is considered the best pro prospect in the class, averaging 25.3 ppg and 4.7 apg. He is taking 22 shots a game though so expect that number to go down. That leaves, Reddish, whose taking 16 field goal attempts a night. The 6’8 forward is shooting 44% from three-point range on eight attempts a game.

Up to this point, Williamson and Barrett have been the ones to lead Duke in scoring. But starting in this game, Reddish has a legit shot at being the high scorer. San Diego State will likely have Matt Mitchell guard Barrett while McDaniels will try to slow down Williamson. Reddish will have Schakel on him, a huge mismatch that he should take advantage of.

Teams are not going to allow all three of the dynamic trio to go off in a single game. The attention will be on both Williamson and Barrett more than Reddish, which should allow him to raise his production more and more.
