4) Washington Huskies

Washington’s season has been a mixed bag to this point in the year.

They opened as a top 25 team and high expectations thanks to their strong finish to last season. Head coach Mike Hopkins returned all of his major contributors from that 21-win team and it looked like this group would deliver on those expectations with a convincing 73-55 win over a good Western Kentucky team on opening night.

Then the Auburn game happened.

Washington went down to the Plains and got manhandled by the Tigers, losing by 22 points in a game that wasn’t that close. It’s their only loss of the season to this point, but their wins over San Diego, Santa Clara, and Texas A&M were all closer than expected.

The Huskies are not a good three-point shooting team and have not been great on the glass, but have talent and experience all over the court. Jaylen Nowell and Noah Dickerson are still two of the best players in the conference.
