Arizona State Sun Devils

Arizona State may have lost a ton of talent this offseason but head coach Bobby Hurley has plenty of talent to make a run this year. The Sun Devils represent an extremely balanced team that can score almost at will on any given night. There are a ton of potentially dangerous scorers on the roster and that makes them difficult to match up with. Having said this, though, freshman Luguentz Dort is the clear-cut star of the team. He might be young but the star is averaging 23.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game so far.

During this past week, the Sun Devils recorded two strong performances in the MGM Resorts Main Event. After defeating Mississippi State, a nationally-ranked team, in the opening game of the event, Arizona State followed that up by taking down an underrated Utah State team. The Sun Devils remain undefeated through five games so far this season and the hope is that they can continue this hot streak.

The Pac-12 as a whole has not been particularly great so far this year and that does open a door for Arizona State to swoop close to the top of the conference. Will the Sun Devils ride this hot start to the season to a potential top-25 ranking and a top finish in conference play this season? We will have to wait to find out.

This was yet another strong week in NCAA basketball. Bracketology resumes are starting to grow and it will be interesting to see who makes this list of winners next week. Resumes are starting to take a bit more shape but it is still impossible to tell which wins are the best.
