Lockdown Luke Maye

With all due respect to Cameron Johnson and Coby White, Michigan needs to shut down Maye. He absolutely dominated Michigan last year scoring 27 points on 11-16 shooting. The Wolverines had no answer for him and he basically helped win the game all by himself. He started off on fire and helped the Tar Heels build a huge first-half lead that Michigan had no chance coming back from.

He will not surprise Michigan this year and they need to make sure they are in his face all night long. He has been good this year but not great, but has to be licking his chops to terrorize Michigan again this year. Texas did a great job defending him and forcing him into 5-15 shooting, so it can be done. He can stretch a defense and shoot from anywhere and seemed to catch Michigan off guard last year. Expect Charles Matthews or Ignas Brazdeikis to guard him for most of the night and be all over him.

Maye has not been their leading scorer this year, but he is still very capable of going off as he did last year against the Wolverines. Limit him and you limit the Tar Heel offense.
