11. Miami Hurricanes (5-4)

Last week: 5th (↓6)

The Hurricanes lost their matchup with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and followed that up with losses to the Yale Bulldogs and Penn Quakers to

Miami is currently on a four-game losing streak and things couldn’t have gone worse for head coach Jim Larranaga and company. Roster turnover could have a bit to do with their current record. They lost Lonnie Walker IV and Bruce Brown Jr. to the 2018 NBA Draft. They’ve also been without Dewan Huell (Hernandez), who has sat out while the NCAA decides on his eligibility. His name surfaced in the FBI’s recent probe of shoe companies involved with college basketball.

Their offensive firepower has gone missing of late due to their lack of depth. Without Huell, finding victories has been hard to come by. Against Penn, their leading scorer was Zach Johnson, who scored 17 points of the bench. Larranaga only played seven players total in that one, and four players played over 30 minutes. Fatigue could set in early for this squad, causing an even bigger freefall in the long run.
