NCAA Basketball: 5 coaches on the hot seat entering conference play

2) Andy Enfield, USC
While the other coach in Los Angeles is receiving most of the hot seat attention, Andy Enfield is also facing a major uphill battle in order to keep his job.
USC has been at the center of the FBI investigation since it broke – former assistant Tony Bland was one of those arrested and has already reached a plea deal in the case – and while none of the schools who have been linked to the investigation have fired their coaches, that may be changing this summer.
Plus, the Trojans have been playing rather poorly over the last year and a half. Now in his sixth season at USC, the program missed out on the NCAA Tournament last year despite being ranked in the preseason top 10.
Things have only gotten worse from there as the Trojans are currently 6-6 with losses to Santa Clara, Vanderbilt, and a 35-point drubbing by TCU on their resume. This group simply hasn’t been competitive.
The only thing Enfield has going his way is USC’s incoming recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 2 in the country. Currently a five-man class, the group is headlined by five-star big men Isaiah Mobley and Onyeka Okongwu. All five players rank among the top 120 prospects in the country.
But, with both of those factors working against him, it’s extremely hard to imagine Enfield returning to USC next year.
