Big West: Kyle Allman Jr, Cal State Fullerton

CSU Fullerton has had a horrible 2018 non-conference play season, but like Chris Clemons and Campbell, they have the top player in the conference by a somewhat wide margin.

Kyle Allman Jr, the Titans senior guard, does it all, averaging 19 points per game on the season. Allman dropped 26 points in his last game against Portland, and was the centerpiece of the Titans when they made it to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Allman’s Cal State Fullerton team might still be one of the favorites to come out on top of the Big West, but unless they go on the run, Allman might suffer the sorry fate of having to watch the tournament at home, despite being the top player in the conference.

Colonial Athletic Association: Devontae Cacok, UNC Wilmington

UNC Wilmington’s Devontae Cacok is another of the several names on this list who are the top players in their conferences despite their teams having horrid seasons. UNCW is just 4-10, however Cacok has emerged as the CAA’s top player.

The senior forward is averaging 14 points and 11 rebounds per game, and has garnered some NBA interest, due in part to his two NCAA tournament berths over his tenure at UNC Wilmington.

That series of march appearances likely ends for the Seahawks in 2019, but Cacok will likely be the CAA player of the year, and has a good chance of finding a team in the NBA, draft or not.
