3. Will Wynston Tabbs return to action?

The Boston College Golden Eagles had some questions about their backcourt coming into 2018-19. They still have Ky Bowman but with the departure of Jerome Robinson, things looked a bit gloomy for their trajectory.

All the gloom has died down a bit with the arrival of freshman guard Wynston Tabbs. He’s come in and silenced the critics a ton with his play. Through 12 games and 11 starts this season, Tabbs is producing 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

He was named the ACC Rookie of the Week last month after posting 19.5 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per contest against Columbia and Fairfield University. The team recently dropped a close game to the Hartford Hawks in overtime, 79-78, on Dec. 31 but Tabbs appeared in just nine minutes of action. He left the game early due to a left leg injury and was unable to return.

The team is clearly a better one with him on the floor, as evidenced by the final result. With so many quality guards on the Virginia Tech Hokies side, Tabbs health will be something to keep an eye on heading into this one.
