Support for Carsen Edwards

Edwards is without a doubt the best player on the Boilermakers and he might be the best player in the Big Ten. He is even considered one of the best in the country, but Purdue has had a tough time giving him much support. Edwards is averaging 25.2 ppg while the only other Boilermaker averaging in double-figures is Ryan Cline at 12.6 ppg.

Edwards is a great player and will get his points no matter who they are playing but he can not do it all by himself. When the other Boilermakers chip in, it allows him to get more open looks and takes the pressure off of him. Too often this year it has seemed like Purdue has just sat around waiting for Edwards to do something great. Cline has been pretty good from the outside but he is not enough.

In order for Purdue to get the win Tuesday night, they need Matt Haarms and Evan Boudreaux to step up inside and give Purdue and Edwards some much-needed support. If they can have big days inside, it should allow Edwards to get some free space and open up his game. Michigan State is definitely going to key in on Edwards and make it tough for him to score. If he can’t get any support it will be a long night.
