Justin Wright-Foreman, Hofstra

Staying in the CAA, my number one underrated mid-major player is guard Justin Wright-Foreman.

Wright-Foreman is looking like the CAA player of the year for the second season in a row, and for good reason. The star guard from Queens is averaging 26.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He’s a do-it-all guard who’s led a strong Hofstra side to their current 13-3 record. What’s really impressive for Wright-Foreman is his percentages. He’s shooting 51.4% from the field, 42.7% from three, and 85.4% from the free throw line.

Wright-Foreman has been tearing it up this season, and that isn’t contained to non-conference play. In Hofstra’s last game against Northeastern, Wright-Foreman dropped 42 points, including the buzzer beater three pointer from near half court as time expired. Wright-Foreman is a perfect example of what Joe Mihalich does at Hofstra. Wright-Foreman didn’t start a single game his Freshman year. He also only started about half his games his Sophomore year. Then he not only started regularly, but won the CAA POY in his Junior season, and it’s looking like the same story for his Senior season.

Justin Wright-Foreman has a legitimate chance to make the NBA, and I recommend checking him out before his college career is over. On January 17th Hofstra hosts UNCW, so you can see Wright-Foreman and Cacok go head to head.
