6. Gonzaga Bulldogs

Record: 16-2 (3-0 WCC)

Last Week: No. 6

Rated as the top offensive team in the nation by KenPom, Gonzaga can fill up the basket against any opposition. The Bulldogs have scored at least 80 points in all but two games so far this season and they should be able to use their offensive outputs to run over opponents in conference play. And considering they have scored 90+ in two of their first three WCC games (won the other one 67-36), it seems like this team should be able to dominate throughout conference play.

This is arguably head coach Mark Few’s most talented team in Spokane and this team should be able to not only compete for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but also make a deep run. Gonzaga, despite constant ridicule, has been one of the most successful Big Dance programs in recent history and there is no reason to believe that they will be an “easy out” this year.

Gonzaga seems to outperform seed expectations almost every year and if they are able to make that happen this time around, cutting down the nets would not be a major surprise. When completely healthy, the Bulldogs could be the best team in the nation; we just won’t know it until the tournament rolls around due to the SOS in the WCC.
