2. Duke Blue Devils

Record: 14-1 (3-0 ACC)

Last Week: No. 2

Duke looked vulnerable this past weekend when they needed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to defeat Florida State but they are still one of the most dominant teams in the nation. The Blue Devils, when healthy, are the most frightening team to match up against. Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, and Cam Reddish make up a ridiculously lengthy and talented trio and that does not even account for the rest of the supporting cast.

Speaking of that supporting cast, the entire national media has spent plenty of time on the elite quartet of freshmen (previous three + Tre Jones) but I want to focus in on Jack White. A 6-foot-7 junior forward, White is an incredibly important part of the team due to his versatile skillset. Easily the most important member of Duke’s bench unit, White averages 25.1 minutes per game and impacts each contest in multiple ways.

Most importantly, though, he shoots the ball well from distance (38.6%), rebounds at a high rate, and plays strong defense. For the year, he is posting 6.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists (to just 0.5 turnovers), 1.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. That kind of production out of a bench player is an incredible luxury that head coach Mike Krzyzewski has at his disposal.
