2. Cornhuskers exorcising last year’s demons

Many Nebraska fans are still pretty sour that their beloved Cornhuskers were left out of last year’s tournament, despite going 13-5 in Big Ten conference play. That was due in large part to their strength of schedule, and more specifically their lack of quality wins. With road wins against Indiana and Clemson, as well as home wins against Seton Hall and Creighton, the Cornhuskers are in better shape than they were in January of last season.

Having said that, a victory against Michigan State would instantly leap to the top of the heap as something that really jumps off their team sheet on Selection Sunday. Given their roster composition, I doubt any of the players have forgotten just how bad it felt not hearing their name called last season.

“Los Tres Juniors”, as I have decided to call them, are all back and ready to make right how they were wronged last year. James Palmer Jr., Isaac Copeland Jr., and Glynn Watson Jr. have continued their roles from last season as the key players that make this team a tough one to beat. If the Cornhuskers are to have any chance at beating the Spartans, they need every member of “Los Tres Juniors” to play well.

The Huskers like to slow it down, and the Spartans like to speed it up. It should be a fun game to watch, so I recommend tuning into Fox Sports 1 at 8 PM EST to check it out.
