NCAA Basketball: 3 potential landing spots for TCU transfer Jaylen Fisher
No. 1: Memphis Tigers
Jaylen Fisher and Memphis is a match made in heaven.
First off, Fisher is from Tennessee. Fisher played his high school basketball in Bolton, Tennessee, and was heavily recruited by Memphis all throughout his recruiting process.
Times have changed. Former Memphis coach Tubby Smith is out, but the new Tigers coach might just be the perfect coach for Fisher.
Penny Hardaway, a former NBA point guard, would be a great leader for Fisher. Hardaway would give Fisher a ton of freedom on the court, and would be able to tap into his potential as a former point guard as well.
And while Memphis isn’t having the greatest of seasons this season, next season the Tigers will be a contender. The top recruit in the Class of 2019, James Wiseman, is heading to Memphis, and will certainly make Memphis an NCAA Tournament contender.
Pairing Fisher with Wiseman would be an explosive duo for Hardaway in what will be his second season as the Tigers’ coach. Fisher could be enticed with the opportunity to play big minutes, play with a star, be coached by a former NBA superstar point guard, and of course, return to his home state.
Jaylen Fisher will certainly be one of the most sought-after players on the NCAA transfer market. Whether he ends up in Baylor, Nevada, Memphis, or elsewhere, whoever gets Jaylen Fisher will be getting a plus scorer, and a great point guard.
