7) TCU‘s season is in jeopardy

The Horned Frogs were a ranked team for a good part of the season but are headed in the wrong direction after losing three of their last four games. And, unfortunately for TCU, it looks like that’s a trend that will continue following news that Jaylen Fisher will miss the rest of the season and transfer.

It’s a loss that doesn’t seem devastating on the surface. Fisher has only played in nine games this season and is fourth on the team in scoring, after all. But stats don’t tell the whole story.

Fisher dealt with injuries throughout his time at TCU, missing 23 of their 50 games over the past year and a half. In the 26 games he played in, the Horned Frogs went 21-5. In the 24 games he missed, they went just 13-11.

That’s a significant difference. He drives their offense, is a tough defender, and was capable of scoring 20 points on any given night. TCU is now missing their leader and that player who made opponents account for him at all times. He’s also the fourth player to transfer from the program this year, making them short on depth.

Without him, their year might go into a downward spiral.
