20. NC State Wolfpack

Record: 15-3 (3-2 ACC)

Last Week: No. 15

NC State suffered one of the toughest losses of any ranked team this past week by falling on the road to Wake Forest. And while the team did storm back late to potentially win the game, they were unable to finish that run and eventually lost by four points. On the whole, the Wolfpack still hold a great record of 15-3 but their resume is fairly weak. They only have one win over a KenPom top-50 team in the country and therefore they have a fair amount of work left to do.

Looking ahead, three of NC State’s next five games come against teams ranked in the top-10 and their record could start to look a bit uglier in a couple of weeks. With that said, though, they are quite talented and should be able to notch a win or two during that stretch. In order to improve their NCAA Tournament resume, the Wolfpack need to start taking down some top-tier competition. Thankfully, there will be plenty of opportunities to do exactly that in ACC play.

The Wolfpack will need to do a better job with getting to the free throw line and limiting their opponents’ opportunities. For the year, NC State is in the bottom half of the country in both offensive and defensive FTAr.
