8) Zavier Simpson, bringing back the skyhook

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar used the skyhook as his go-to move on the way to becoming the leading scorer in the NBA history, but the shot has largely gone unused since he retired.

Many big men have developed reliable hooks or baby hooks, but no one has been able to utilize the skyhook.

Until Zavier Simpson, that is. Michigan’s point guard is using the skyhook to get shots off over bigger defenders inside and the results are b-e-a-utiful.

Michigan has a lot of offensive weapons and Simpson has mostly been a distributor throughout his career. However, this move has made him one of the toughest players to defend when he attacks the basket, adding yet another dimension to Michigan’s offense.

Long live the skyhook!
