3. Kansas isn’t nearly as strong as in previous years

After last night’s loss to Texas, Kansas has a three-game road losing streak, and now have three losses in conference play.

Those losses have come to Texas, Iowa State, and West Virginia. Texas Tech should be licking its chops.

The Red Raiders and Jayhawks will match up for the first time all season on Saturday, when Texas Tech will head to Lawrence and take on Kansas. The winner of the game will hold first place in the Big 12.

Past the standings, Kansas isn’t nearly as good of a team as in years past. They’re awfully inexperienced, tend to rely on Dedric Lawson too much, and as of right now, have no center on their roster in lieu of the Udoka Azubuike injury.

Saturday’s matchup will tell if the Red Raiders are indeed the favorite to win the Big 12. They matchup up very well against Kansas on defense, but will need to find a way to tune out the home crowd, as Kansas is much strong at home than on the road.

If Texas Tech wins Saturday’s game in Lawrence, they’ll have sole possession of first place in the Big 12. If that does indeed happen, I would fully expect Texas Tech to stay in first place all the way through the Big 12 Tournament.

Kansas not winning the Big 12 Regular Season Championship is almost unheard of. I think now is the time to prepare to hear the previously unheard. There is a new semblance of superiority in the Big 12, and it starts with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
