5) Zach Norvell Jr., SG, Gonzaga

Norvell is quietly rising up draft boards because he’s a sure thing who continues to flash multiple NBA-level skills.

If you’ve seen Norvell play, you know he’s a gifted shooter. He has NBA range and a beautiful lefty stroke that he can get off quickly either off the dribble or in a catch-and-shoot situation. And, at 6-5, he rarely has a problem getting his shot off.

Norvell has flashed more of his game as a sophomore, too. He’s not a great athlete but is good enough to hold his own defensively and can attack the rim. Again, his limited athleticism doesn’t get him the explosive finishes we see from a lot of top prospects, yet he has showcased a number of crafty floaters and finishes around the rim to compensate.

Because of his relatively average size and athleticism, Norvell might not have the upside of some of the players ahead of him, but NBA teams know what they’re going to be getting from him. And, late in the first round or early in the second, that’s certainly not a bad thing.
