The Boilermakers are the hottest team in the Big Ten and outside of their close call at Penn State, they have shown that they may be the best team in the conference. Carsen Edwards is continuing to shine, which included a 38 point effort to save the Boilermakers against Penn State. But the most important thing is he is starting to get some help from his teammates. Ryan Cline is continuing to shoot well from the outside and Matt Haarms is starting to show up and play good basketball.

They jump ahead of Michigan State due to their win last weekend at home where they led by as many as 23 in the second half before having to hold off a big rally from the Spartans. They showed toughness in pulling that game out late when they made their charge.

The schedule sets up nice for the Boilermakers the rest of the way and that in itself could help them win the Big Ten regular season. They do not have to play either of Michigan or Michigan State the rest of the year. Their toughest remaining game looks to be a road game at Maryland.

If Purdue continues to play like they have the last few weeks they could find themselves at the top of these rankings and the top of the Big Ten.
