Nebraska is a tailspin and it doesn’t look like there is an end in sight. Trying to build off of last years 22 wins, the Cornhuskers started the year strong but have completely fallen flat as of late. They have lost five straight games including losses to Rutgers, an Ohio State team who had lost five in a row and Illinois.

This is not what Nebraska had in mind coming into this year as they hoped to get back into the NCAA Tournament after feeling like they got snubbed last year. Losing Isaac Copeland Jr. to a season-ending injury has been a huge blow for Nebraska and they haven’t been able to recover from it.

It doesn’t get any easier for Nebraska as they host Maryland and travel to red-hot Purdue this week. They are not going to be favored in either one of those games and it would be a big upset for them to win either of them.

Once thought of as a lock for the tournament, they may not make the NIT this year and Tim Miles might be coaching for his job. Nebraska better figure it out quick or their once promising season will be a huge disappointment.
