Baylor – Buy

The Baylor Bears on paper did not appear to be a team who had any chance to make the NCAA tournament. Good thing that games are not played on paper. In reality, the Bears have a great change to make the NCAA tournament after a very uninspiring non-conference slate. Baylor entered the Big 12 with an uphill climb after taking some undesirable losses in the non-league slate. The conference season is what has placed Baylor firmly in position to make the NCAA tournament.

Baylor and head coach Scott Drew seem to do this every single year. The Bears always take head scratching losses to go along with the wins that no one thought they would have a chance of winning. In the Big 12 much like the Big Ten, there is opportunity to get a quality win every night. So far in the conference the Bears have wins over Iowa State, Texas Tech, at Oklahoma, and TCU. This is also coupled with the good out of conference wins against Alabama and Arizona. Unlike some of their counterparts on this list, Coach Drew’s team does have two black marks on the resume. Losing at home to Texas Southern and a loss at home to Stephen F Austin.

Coach Drew has his team playing at an extremely high level right now. Baylor and their level of play has all been without big man Tristan Clark who was an integral part of the team before he was lost for the year due to injury. At this point Yale transfer and point guard Makai Mason is leading the Bears. The current top of the standing feature Kansas State and Baylor. If Baylor continues their high level of play and finishes near the top the top of Big 12. A tournament bid is almost a lock.
