3. They need to let Coby White continue to blossom

A final key for North Carolina involves their freshman leading scorer, Coby White, and that is to just allow him to continue to blossom. The 6-5 native of Goldsboro, N.C. is averaging 16 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He’s shooting nearly 44% from the field, 38% from beyond the arc and 81% from the free throw line. The first-year player has made an impact from his first game, having failed to score double digits in just six games this season.

Since the team’s 21-point loss to Louisville, White has really taken off, leading North Carolina to a 7-1 record. In that time, White has scored at least 15 points in six of the seven contests and over 20 three times. He is shooting 46% from the field and 42% from deep and averaged over 19 points per game.

The key for the Tar Heels will be to let White continue to blossom as a player. White has led the team in scoring four times since that loss to Louisville, including leading them in points, rebounds, and assists in the win over Virginia Tech.

For North Carolina to continue its success, White will have to be an integral part of that, being even more of a force on the offensive end.
