Bracketology Losers: Indiana, TCU, Clemson and Alabama in danger mode
TCU Horned Frogs – NET ranking (34)
Of all the teams on this week’s list, TCU is in the best position to get an at-large bid. They have good metrics and no bad losses while limiting their total defeats to this point to eight. But it was six before getting swept this past week in a couple of tough games at home.
The Horned Frogs had No. 14 Kansas reeling to start the week but they couldn’t hold on, losing 82-77 in overtime. That would’ve been the signature win for the team and essentially take them off the bubble into “safe” territory. TCU seemed to get over the loss but still couldn’t beat Oklahoma, taking a nine-point setback.
Neither loss is problematic but the Horned Frogs could’ve given themselves some breathing room to operate. Now they’ll have to be careful not to take on more losses than necessary, including three road games against unranked foes, while the other three are at home versus ranked opponents.
TCU has a shot to get the regular season swept over Iowa State and another signature win for the resume. But it’s just as important to avoid a bad loss at Oklahoma State, who’s just 2-10 in Big 12 play. A split will be fine for the Horned Frogs while hoping that others become Bracketology Losers for next week.
