5. Florida State Seminoles (22-6) (10-5 ACC)

Last rank: 4th (↓1)

The Florida State Seminoles teeter a bit in the rankings after a 77-59 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels this past Saturday but they got back to their winning ways against Notre Dame on Monday night.

Sixth Man Mfiondu Kabengele was held to just eight points in 19 minutes against the Tar Heels. He put up 10 points in the victory over Notre Dame, but he isn’t the player to keep an eye on.

One interesting thing to keep an eye on is the emergence of freshman guard Devin Vassell. Vassell put up a season-high 13 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 shooting from behind the arc against the Fighting Irish.

The Seminoles depth has been something that’s carried them this far into the season so it’s no surprise a new option is emerging in the rotation, but the current rotation has to produce as well in big games.

They host NC State this Saturday afternoon then on Monday night, they host the hot Virginia Tech Hokies.
