4. Virginia Tech Hokies (22-6) (11-5 ACC)

Last rank: 7th (↑3)

The Virginia Tech Hokies have climbed back into the Top 5 with two straight victories in ACC action. They defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 67-59, on the road on Saturday to bounce back from a loss to Virginia.

They defeated the Duke Blue Devils 77-72, on Tuesday night to get a marquee victory on their NCAA Tournament resume. The victory over Duke was the Hokies third-straight in Blacksburg and was the Blue Devils first road loss of the year.

Kerry Blackshear Jr. continues to play big in the absence of senior guard Justin Robinson. Blackshear put up 23 points and 10 rebounds in the victory over the Blue Devils, marking his third-straight double-double in conference play.

Robinson has missed the last eight games with a foot injury, but Virginia Tech has managed to win five of those eight contests. The Hokies are finishing strong with a few games left on the schedule. They’ll get some time off until Tuesday night when they’ll travel to Florida State.
